Who’s writing this blog ?

My name is Missy, and I am a sinner who’s life has been redeemed by Christ.

I am the wife of Jon, and the mother of David, Audrey, Michael, Helen, Daniel and Maggie.

We are a family of Americans, thickly marbled with Norwegian, living in Canada.  I am also a Southern girl, though the South is scandalized by my yankee accent.

I have lived in eleven area codes in my life.  In California, the coast of Massachusetts, the deep South and the Midwest.  If I were instructed to move “home”, I would not know where to go.  Maybe to my car.

I am a home-schooling mom, living a migratory life, hoping to make up for some of the time I squandered in my youth by using the time I have been given better.  By reading and serving my family and taking the little gifts and talents which have been given to me, and using them well.

As I approach the various objectives which will be chronicled and measured on this blog, I think that to be truly thankful for all the mercies and kindness which have been poured out on me is my real ambition.  To remember that the ability to read a book, to run a mile or more in the early morning, to parent children and see them flourish and grow into fascinating adults are big fat gifts for which I am to be always thankful.  To learn to never complain, to always remember to articulate my thankfulness, and to give out as much as has been given to me…..this seems like a worthwhile objective.  So, I’ll aim for that .
And I love it when people leave comments on my blog.

Boy have I missed you Missy Ween. I think about you at times…more so lately. Looks like you have tons going on but all wonderful adventures. Kevin hopes that Jon has a fabulous workshop in your new home…I would think with 7500 sq ft you could manage that. I still don’t know how you manage to do all that you do…we still affectionately call you wonder woman. Praying that your mom’s move brings some wonderful moments to your lives. Can’t believe that David is in college. Please say hi to Jon and the kids. From your Canadian friend Litsa
